The Tour
Board the Belmond Britannic Explorer in London for this three-night itinerary that is a true celebration of Cornwall. Journey to the far reaches of Southwest England, a land of shanties and seafood, capturing all its sunlit beaches and ocean charm. From the rugged coastlines of Penzance to the idyllic villages around Lostwithiel, there’s something for every kind of explorer to enjoy.

Itinerary
Day 1: London – Bishops Lydeard
Board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station in the mid-afternoon and settle into your suite.
Enjoy a Cornish Afternoon Tea as the train travels through North Wessex Downs, Somerset market towns of Frome and Taunton.
As you arrive at West Somerset Railway in the evening, make your way to The Bar to mingle with your fellow guests over a selection of signature cocktails before dinner in one of the dining cars.
Enjoy a peaceful night as the train stops for an overnight.
Day 2: Bishops Lydeard – Penzance – Fowey
Breakfast is served as the Britannic Explorer heads to the south coast of Devon to join the scenic Riviera Line. This route hugs the coast, offering picturesque ocean views through towns such as Teignmouth and the famous Dawlish Sea Wall. Passing by Dartmoor National Park, you’ll arrive in Plymouth and then cross into Cornwall, known locally as Kernow. The final leg to Penzance is equally scenic, with views of the sea as you pass through St Austell and Truro.
After lunch, disembark at St. Erth to visit the artistic town of St. Ives, or continue to Penzance for a guided tour of the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. There, you’ll find James Turrell’s ‘Aqua Oscura,’ a unique installation that offers a fresh view of the sky and trees. Then, enjoy a private Cornish wine tasting with views of St. Michael’s Mount.
In the late afternoon, rejoin the train for the journey back toward Fowey, where the train will stop for the night on a quiet track overlooking the river.

Day 3: Fowey – Bruton
This morning, pick from a range of activities around the charming harbor town of Fowey and the historic Lostwithiel area, known for its ancient sites and unique gardens. Options include coastal hikes, private boat tours, and other custom adventures.
Return to the train in Fowey and settle in as you travel to the enchanting market town of Bruton in Somerset. There, enjoy a private, after-hours tour of the renowned Hauser & Wirth contemporary art gallery, followed by drinks and an exclusive dinner.
Enjoy a quiet night on board as the train stables at East Somerset Railway.
Day 4: Castle Cary – London
A final breakfast is served as the train travels back to London. Arrive at Victoria Station early in the morning where your journey ends.
